Scouting for Food Good Turn -
Let's Collect 100,000 pounds
for the 100th Anniversary!

On Friday morning, Feb. 19th @ Lowes Foods in Kernersville, WFMY will be interviewing pack 940. We are going to do the interview with the scouts at 7:15am. Please have them there at 6:50am. For all those who have been blessed like myself, wherein God said " No need for hair on such a handsome head! ", you may want to come a little earlier to powder the shine!

Seriously, we need as many cub scouts in class "A" uniform as possible to represent the pack.
We want to get the message out to viewers that the scouts are coming out on Saturday to retrieve the Scouting for Food bags and we hope folks will fill theirs and place on the porch for the scouts! The scouts are welcome to leave after the interview is over around 7:25am.

If any of the home-schooled scouts want to stay for a while to pass out bags to shoppers, we would appreciate their support. We will give all of the food collected at Lowes Foods to Second Harvest to take to the food bank. This is something they could do inside the store.

Now for Saturdays schedule. We will meet at Main St. UMC @ 9:00 am. We will then proceed to Abington Subdivision to pick-up the bags that were distributed last Sunday.

Please come out and help, as some of the folks that distributed bags will not be available on Saturday to help us. Afterward, we will meet at the Abington pool for a quick polar bear swim (I got your attention didn't I?) Sorry, we will not be plunging into the ice, but taking a group photo instead.

Hopefully, we can finish up by 11 a.m. or so and deliver the food to Crisis Control Ministries in Kernersville.

My thanks to all that have participated so far and my extended thanks for all those who decide to do so. I know with the weather, this event has been rather trying to say the least, but you guys always seem to come through!!

P.S., if you also could help out by bringing some canned goods to the Blue & Gold Banquet it would be graciously appreciated!.
