Resident Camp is an annual event held at Camp Raven Knob each June. It consists of 3 days and 3
nights of organized activities that will earn achievements in your son's Scout book. In addition to daily age-specific activities that are scheduled,
there are also optional "free-time" activities including:
-
Hike to the knob
-
Swim in the lake
-
Shoot at the archery range
-
Shoot at the BB-gun range
-
Climb the climbing wall
-
Eat in the dining hall (an experience in itself!)
-
Attend bonfires with entertainment/skits at the OA Arena
-
Fishing
-
Whatever you want to do
Camp includes meals, t-shirt, patch and program materials. Pack 940 makes an annual donation
for the construction of a Adirondack cabin at the Crazy Horse B campsite and Troop 940 Boy Scouts and leaders have been helping to construct several of the cabins.
Because of our contributions, we usually are can get the Crazy Horse A and B campsites which are covered on three sides and have bunk beds (you can see what the cabins look
like in
previous year's photos).
A parent normally accompanies each scout to Resident Camp and to all or most of the daily
activities. If a parent (or other adult relative) cannot attend, please make arrangements with another parent to be personally responsible for your son.
